The papers in this series cover a variety of topics including labour, business firm dynamics, pensions, agriculture, mortality, language, immigration, statistical computing and simulation. The papers, written by branch staff, visiting fellows and academic associates, are intended to stimulate discussion; readers are encouraged to contact the authors with comments, criticisms and suggestions. All the papers in the Analytical Studies Branch research paper series go through institutional and peer review to ensure that they conform to Statistics Canada's mandate as a government statistical agency and adhere to generally accepted standards of good professional practice.
