The Daily. Friday, August 10, 2001 Traveller accommodation services price indexesToday, Statistics Canada publishes, for the first time, a set of monthly indexes that measure price movements of short-term accommodation services. These indexes reflect changes in room rates, excluding all indirect taxes, for overnight or short stays with no meals or other services provided. The indexes are now available for the first six months of 2001 by province and territory (for Canada) and by major client group. In future, the indexes will be released each quarter.
