Friday, March 11, 2005 Dairy statisticsJanuary 2005 (preliminary)Dairy farmers sold 646 900 kilolitres of milk and cream to dairies in January 2005, down 0.8% from January 2004. Fluid milk sales stood at 239 200 kilolitres, and industrial milk sales at 407 700 kilolitres. Industrial milk is used to manufacture butter, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, milk powders and concentrates.
