Canada's international transaction in securities, September 2005
Canadians purchased $5 billion worth of foreign securities in September, all of it in foreign debt instruments. After a reduction in holdings of Canadian securities in August, foreign investors made their biggest investment of the year ($4.9 billion), with two-thirds in Canadian stocks.

Deposit-accepting intermediaries: Activities and economic performance, 2004
The value of services produced by deposit-accepting intermediaries (chartered banks, trust companies, caisses populaires and credit unions) rose 2.4% in 2004. This growth is less than half the average annual growth rate of the previous seven years.
