Quarterly financial statistics for enterprises, third quarter 2005 
Corporations earned record high operating profits of $55.0 billion in the third quarter of 2005, a 2.9% increase over the second quarter. Soaring oil and natural gas prices propelled energy sector profits to record highs, accounting for virtually all of the overall profit gain.

General Social Survey: Criminal victimization, 2004
The rate of violent victimization in Canada, based on information provided by Canadians themselves, was no higher in 2004 than it was five years earlier, according to a new survey that examined the extent and nature of criminal victimization. However, overall rates of property-related offences rose during this period.
