Demographic statistics

October 1, 2005 (preliminary)

Preliminary postcensal population estimates as of October 1, 2005 are now available for Canada, the provinces and the territories.

Available on CANSIM: tables 051-0005 to 051-0006, 051-0017, 051-0020, 051-0037 and 053-0001.

Definitions, data sources and methods: survey numbers, including related surveys, 3231, 3232, 3233, 3601 and 3605.

These estimates appear quarterly in Quarterly Demographic Statistics, 2005 (91-002-XIB, $9/$27).
