Placement of hatchery chicks and turkey poults

June 2006 (preliminary) Previous release

Placements of hatchery chicks onto farms were estimated at 55.3 million birds in June, down 6.0% from June 2005. Placements of turkey poults on farms increased 2.5% to 2.1 million birds.
