December 2007

Prices received by farmers in December for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available.

The Quebec soybean price in December was $368.00 per metric tonne, up 7% from November and up 27% from December 2006 when the price was $290.00.

The December feeder cattle price in Alberta was $83.48 per hundredweight, up 4% from November but down 4% from the December 2006 price of $86.90.

Farm commodity prices are now available on CANSIM. Over 35 commodities are available by province, some series going back 20 years.
