Data on organized crime, hate-motivated crime, street gang crime and cyber crime are now available from 27 municipal police services across Canada as well as 23 RCMP detachments in British Columbia. Together, these police services cover 16% of the population of Canada.

These new data elements were developed by Statistics Canada with the financial assistance of the Multiculturalism Program at Canadian Heritage as well as Public Safety Canada.
