Labour Force Survey, October 2008 
Following a large gain the month before, employment was little changed in October as an increase in full-time work was mostly offset by losses in part time. The unemployment rate edged up 0.1 percentage points to 6.2%, driven by an increase in the number of people looking for work.

Fixed assets, 2008
Expenditures on oil and gas extraction, as well as high technology, were the main contributors to the growth in fixed assets in Canada during the past decade. Provincially, Alberta recorded the fastest growth in the share of the nation's fixed capital stock rose during this decade.
