Adult and youth correctional services: Key indicators, 2007/2008
Canada's incarceration rate in 2007/2008 rose by 2% from the previous year, the third consecutive annual increase. The gain was driven by the growing number of adults being held on remand in provincial/territorial jails while awaiting trial or sentencing.

Study: Household greenhouse gas emissions, 1990 to 2004
Households were either directly or indirectly responsible for almost half of Canada's total greenhouse gas emissions in 2004.

About 45% of Canadian households had very environmentally active lifestyles in 2006, as measured by their participation in at least four of six selected environmental behaviours.
