As of October 31, 2005

Data on college enrollees for academic years 2000/2001 to 2005/2006 is now available.

Enrolment at Canadian colleges (excluding students in trades and basic education) totaled 613,500 as of October 31, 2005. These institutions include colleges of applied arts and technology, technical institutes, Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEPs) and similar institutions.

Note: Data for several colleges are not available as part of this release. Levels of enrolment presented are not meant to represent a complete enumeration of students at colleges during the academic year. The count excludes students enrolled in programs related to pre-employment, apprenticeship, basic training or skills upgrading, language training, job readiness or orientation programs. Of the "in-scope" students, the count represents the number of students who were doing courses on Oct 31, 2005, and thus presents a snapshot of enrolment on that day.
