The public use microdata file from the 2008 Survey of Older Workers is now available. This file contains information collected from more than 10,000 respondents aged 50 to 75 residing in private households in the provinces.

The Survey of Older Workers was conducted in the fall of 2008 on behalf of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. As a Labour Force Survey supplement, its objective is to understand the components that are integral in the decision to either continue working or retire as perceived by older workers in the 10 provinces. This file contains data collected between October and November 2008 from more than 10,000 respondents.

The Survey of Older Workers: Public Use Microdata File, 2008, is available on CD-ROM (89M0030X, $1,500), along with complete documentation including a user guide and data dictionary. See How to order products.

The initial results from the 2008 Survey of Older Workers were made available to the public via The Daily on December 2, 2009.
