Consumer Price Index, March 2011

Consumer prices rose 3.3% in the 12 months to March, the largest year-over-year increase since September 2008. This advance follows a 2.2% increase in the 12 months to February. The overall increase in March was broad based. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.8% from February to March.

Wholesale trade, February 2011

Wholesale sales fell 0.6% in February to $46.9 billion, largely as a result of lower sales in the motor vehicle and parts and the miscellaneous subsectors. This decline followed six months of consecutive increases.
