Indicators of entrepreneurship for years 2011 and 2012 are now available on CANSIM.
The program on entrepreneurship indicators provides data on the dynamics of a subset of Canadian enterprises, such as the number of high-growth enterprises; births and deaths of enterprises; enterprises survival; and jobs linked to these indicators.
Note to readers
The Entrepreneurship Indicators Database contains an up-to-date and unduplicated count of enterprises in Canada, based on Statistics Canada's Business Register as well as concepts and definitions from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Entrepreneurship indicators are produced nationally by industry and by enterprise size group.
High-growth enterprises, as measured by employment or by revenues, are enterprises with average annualized growth in employment or revenue greater than 20% a year, over a three-year period, and with 10 or more employees at the beginning of the observation period.
