Statistics Canada releases today the public use microdata file for the 2012 Aboriginal Peoples Survey (APS). This public use microdata file contains data for a wide variety of variables collected from the 2012 APS.
The APS is a national survey on the social and economic conditions of Aboriginal people (First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit) aged six years and older. It is designed to identify the needs of Aboriginal people and focus on issues such as education, employment, health, language, income, housing and mobility.
The initial results from the 2012 APS on education and employment were released in The Daily on November 25, 2013.
Note to readers
A user guide and data dictionary are also available with the Aboriginal Peoples Survey (APS) public use microdata file.
The APS is conducted every five years.
The product "Aboriginal Peoples Survey, 2012: Public Use Microdata File," as part of Aboriginal Peoples Survey, 2012 (Catalogue number89-653-X), along with extensive documentation including a user guide and a data dictionary, is now available upon request.
