Aggregate data on Canadian exporters are now available for 2013. Data include the number of exporting enterprises and the value of exports for these enterprises, by industry and country of destination.
Standard data tables are available upon request. Users can also request customized data products at the Canada and provincial/territorial levels on a cost-recovery basis.
Data for the 2012 reference year for the previous exporter register product will be archived and, therefore, will no longer be available for dissemination.
Note to readers
To align with other national statistical agencies and international organizations, Statistics Canada has adapted its exporter data program to use the enterprise as the statistical unit of measure for exporters. To differentiate this program from previous vintages of exporter data programs, this new program is called the Trade by Enterprise Characteristics (TEC) – Exporter program.
Enterprises can include more than one plant or location. While within an enterprise structure each of these plants or locations can export goods, for the purposes of the TEC – Exporter program, it is the enterprise as a whole that represents the exporter. Similarly, it is the geography and industry classification of the enterprise and export values aggregated at the enterprise level that are used to present the characteristics of the Canadian exporting population.
