Travel between Canada and other countries, September 2015

Released: 2015-11-19

Residents of overseas countries made 477,000 trips to Canada in September, up 3.6% from August. The gain was mainly attributable to a 10.2% increase in visitors from China.

Travel from Canada to overseas countries fell 6.5% to 956,000 trips in September.

Canadian residents made 3.5 million trips to the United States in September, down 1.9% compared with August. The decrease was mainly due to a 3.9% decline in same-day car trips to the United States.

In the other direction, travel from the United States to Canada was relatively unchanged from August.
