Quarterly data for the Consulting Services Price Index (COSPI) are now available for 2014 and 2015.
This is the first release of a new services price index at the national level for the consulting industry as a whole, as well as for the following sub-industries: management consulting services (including human resources consulting), and environmental, scientific and technical consulting services.
In the fourth quarter, the COSPI rose 5.6% from the previous quarter as a result of higher prices for management consulting services (+6.7%). Prices for environmental, scientific and technical consulting services fell 0.3% over the same period.
Year over year, the aggregate COSPI declined 2.5% as a result of a 3.1% decrease in prices for management consulting services, which offset a 0.7% increase in prices for environmental, scientific and technical consulting services.
From the first quarter of 2014 to the fourth quarter of 2015, the aggregate COSPI rose 2.2% as a result of higher prices for management consulting services (+3.1%). Meanwhile, prices of environmental, scientific and technical consulting services fell 1.8% over the same period.

The Consulting Services Price Index is a quarterly survey that collects information on the prices of various types of consulting services, such as management, environmental, scientific and technical consulting services.
With each release, data for the previous quarter may have been revised. Data are also subject to an annual revision with the release of second quarter data of the following reference year. The index is not seasonally adjusted. Data are available at the Canada level only.
