Released: 2016-07-27

The Electric Power Selling Price Index (EPSPI) (2014=100) is now available for January to April.

Starting with the release of data for the January 2016 reference month, the basket of goods used to calculate the EPSPI was updated to reflect revenue in 2014. The updated basket better reflects important changes in the consumption of electricity by non-residential customers in Canada.

  Note to readers

The Electric Power Selling Price Index is a monthly series that measures the price movements of sales of electricity by distributors to commercial and industrial users; estimates are produced three times a year. Data are available for Canada, by region and by province.

With each release, data for the previous 12 months may have been revised. The index is not seasonally adjusted.
