The Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index (AESPI) declined by 1.1% in the second quarter, following a 2.3% drop in the first quarter.
Prices for engineering services, the largest component of the AESPI, fell 1.2% from the first quarter to the second quarter.
Prices for architectural and landscape architectural services decreased by 0.7% in the second quarter, while prices for the surveying and mapping component declined by 2.9%.
Year-over-year change
Year over year, the aggregate AESPI decreased 3.8%, as a result of lower prices for engineering services (-4.6%) and surveying and mapping services (-4.6%), which more than offset an increase in the prices of architectural and landscape architectural services (+1.6%).
