12.2 million cubic metres
November 2016
Opening inventories of crude oil and equivalent products held in pipelines and terminals totalled 12.2 million cubic metres in November.
Receipts from fields up
The amount of crude oil and equivalent products that oil pipelines received from Canadian fields and plants was 21.9 million cubic metres in November. Of this volume, 97% (or more than 19 out of every 20 barrels) came from Alberta and Saskatchewan. An additional 2.0 million cubic metres was imported from the United States.
Exports up
Oil pipelines exported 14.5 million cubic metres of crude oil and equivalent products to the United States in November. Meanwhile, 7.1 million cubic metres was sent to Canadian refineries, with Ontario and Quebec refineries receiving 39% of these deliveries.
In November, closing inventories of crude oil and equivalent products totalled 12.3 million cubic metres.

Data in this release are not seasonally adjusted.
Changes were made to the content and methodology of the Monthly Oil and Other Liquid Petroleum Products Pipeline Survey in March 2016.
For more information, consult the methodology document Monthly Oil and Other Liquid Petroleum Products Pipeline Survey.
These changes resulted in the creation of CANSIM table 133-0006, which replaced CANSIM tables 133-0001, 133-0002, 133-0003, 133-0004 and 133-0005.
While these tables will remain available for reference, users should exercise caution when comparing data from these tables with data from the new table.
