Prices received by farmers in January for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available.
The price of feeder steers in Alberta was $169.71 per hundredweight in January, up 2.4% from December but down 22.5% from January 2016 when the price was $218.91.
The price of soybeans in Ontario was $479.08 per tonne in January, down 2.7% from December but up 10.4% from January 2016 when the price was $433.90.

Farm commodity prices are now available in CANSIM. The prices of over 35 commodities are available by province, with some data series going back 35 years. Price data are extracted from administrative files and derived from Statistics Canada surveys.
