Prices received by farmers in February for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available at the provincial level in CANSIM.
For example, the price of feeder cattle in Manitoba was $153.10 per hundredweight in February, down 5.1% from January and down 22.9% from February 2016 when the price was $198.47.
Meanwhile, the price of soybeans in Quebec was $520.40 per tonne in February, up 0.9% from January and up 11.1% from February 2016 when the price was $468.30.
Note to readers
The prices of more than 35 commodities are available by province, with some data series going back 35 years. Price data are extracted from administrative files and derived from Statistics Canada surveys.
