Cement manufacturers produced 0.79 million metric tonnes of cement products in March, up 43.3% compared with February and 8.2% higher than March 2016.
Shipments of domestic cement rose 46.0% from February to 0.74 million metric tonnes, up 5.6% from the same month a year earlier.
Including imports, shipments increased 33.0% from February to 0.70 million metric tonnes, up 0.4% from the same month a year earlier.

This survey, previously conducted as a cost recovery survey, will be discontinued as of April 2017. March 2017 will be the last month for which data are published.
Data for February have been revised.
Data in this release are subject to revision and are not seasonally adjusted.
The Cement Survey measures, on a monthly basis, the quantities of domestic cement that are produced and shipped by manufacturers. The survey also measures the geographic distribution of sales of domestic and imported cement, as well as the quantity of exported cement.
