Farm product prices, June 2017

Prices received by farmers in June for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available at the provincial level in CANSIM.

For example, the price of hogs in Quebec was $98.34 per hundredweight in June, up 18.6% from May and up 5.5% from June 2016 when the price was $93.20 per hundredweight.

Meanwhile, the price of canola in Saskatchewan was $508.81 per tonne in June, down 2.2% from May but up 3.1% from June 2016 when the price was $493.52 per tonne.

The price of over 35 commodities is available by province, with some data series going back 40 years. Price data are extracted from administrative files and derived from Statistics Canada surveys.
