Shipments of potash within Canada increased by 69 000 tonnes (+11.9%) to 649 000 tonnes in the fourth quarter of the 2016/2017 fertilizer year compared with the same quarter a year earlier.
Canadian potash production rose 9.5% to 19 389 000 tonnes in the fourth quarter of the 2016/2017 fertilizer year–the highest level of potash production for the fourth quarter in 10 years.
Following a 10-year low in the third quarter of 2016/2017, shipments of ammonia within Canada remained low at 497 000 tonnes in the fourth quarter.
