Stocks of frozen and chilled meats, October 2017
Stocks of frozen and chilled meats in cold storage totalled 121 093 tonnes in October, up 10.7% from the same month a year earlier.
Stocks of frozen beef meats decreased 14.7% in October, while stocks of frozen pork meats were up 27.6% compared with October 2016.
Note to readers
This release contains data on stock holdings for various cuts of pork, beef, veal, mutton and lamb, and fancy meats at the national level, as well as total red meats at the regional level. This release also contains the holdings of imported meat at the national level for the same periods.
Data on stocks of frozen and chilled meats, domestic and imported, have been revised back to October 2014. This is the result of revisions to survey data and updates to the survey frame. Details are available upon request.
