This month, the StatCan Blog examines the 2016 reintroduction of the Full-time University and College Academic Staff System (UCASS).

The return was sparked by a demand from users, eager to get comprehensive data on full-time teaching staff at the 112 public degree-granting universities in Canada.

The UCASS results show that an increasing number of women have joined university faculties. As well, faculties are aging, with 15% of university staff under the age of 40.

Data for the 2016/2017 academic year were released in late 2017. Statistics Canada is now inviting Canadians to look at the results and to bring their questions to the team that produced the new statistics.

The public is also invited to chat with an expert on this topic, on Friday January 26, 2018, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time.
