Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage increased 2.1% from January 1, 2017, to 73 995 tonnes on January 1, 2018.
In December 2017, placements of hatchery chicks on farms increased 2.5% compared with December 2016, to 67.7 million birds.
Egg production rose 3.1% from November 2016 to 66.0 million dozen in November 2017.
