Aircraft movement statistics: Small airports, October 2017

Take-offs and landings at 128 Canadian airports without air traffic control towers reached 51,667 movements in October.

Ten airports accounted for 39% of the month's activity: Peterborough, Ontario (3,985 movements); Red Lake, Ontario (2,435); Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador (2,386); Barrie–Orillia–Lake Simcoe Regional, Ontario (2,188); Drummondville, Quebec (1,748); Trois-Rivières, Quebec (1,626); Pickle Lake, Ontario (1,488); Comox, British Columbia (1,481); Moosonee, Ontario (1,360); and Collingwood, Ontario (1,359).

  Note to readers

This survey collects data on itinerant and local aircraft movements at airports without a NAV CANADA Air Traffic Control Tower or a NAV CANADA Flight Service Station.

An aircraft movement is defined as a take-off, a landing, or a simulated approach by an aircraft.

Data for the same month in the previous year may have been revised.

Annual estimates are released each year.

The data in this monthly release are not seasonally adjusted.
