Productivity is an important measure of a country's economic performance. Since 2000, productivity growth in Canada has slowed down. In this month's StatCan Blog, two Statistics Canada researchers, Wulong Gu and Danny Leung, examine some of the factors behind the slowdown, with a focus on the manufacturing sector.

The article also provides an overview of the research being done at Statistics Canada to track and understand trends in productivity.
