The volume of yogurt produced in March was 32 378 tonnes, down 7.3% from March 2017. Production of cottage cheese decreased 3.9% from the same month a year earlier to 1 896 tonnes in March 2018, while cheddar cheese production increased 15.3% over the same period to 14 353 tonnes.

Creamery butter stocks on April 1 were at 35 123 tonnes, up 41.1% from the same day a year earlier.

Total cash receipts from milk and cream sold off farms totalled $559.2 million in March, down 0.6% from the same month last year.
