Canadian manufacturers produced 1.7 billion cigarettes in April, down 10.1% from March but up 5.3% compared with the same month a year earlier.
The total number of cigarettes sold decreased 6.0% from March to 1.6 billion in April. This was up 5.6% compared with April 2017.
