April 4, 2012

OTTAWA — Effective April 5, Statistics Canada is moving to one release time for all data releases in The Daily. The Labour Force Survey will be released at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time on April 5 instead of 7:00 a.m.

Similarly, on April 20, 2012, the Consumer Price Index will be released at 8:30 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m.

The shift to one release time will further enhance the security of the data and allow Statistics Canada to streamline its operations.

Concurrently, Statistics Canada will use a new automated process to load all data products onto its external website for release at 8:30 a.m. Eastern.
