OTTAWA — If you have not completed your census yet, it’s not too late, according to Statistics Canada. The Agency asks households to submit completed questionnaires as soon as possible, while remembering that answers to the census questions should reflect the household situation on May 10, 2016.

While Statistics Canada encouraged everyone to complete their census questionnaire promptly, it recognizes some Canadians may not have been able to do so. Statistics Canada thanks Canadians for their diligence in completing the census.

The online questionnaire will remain accessible for some time to give households a chance to complete their census, as will the Census Help Line.

It is important to note that some areas of the country are enumerated differently than others. The majority of households will have received a census letter, but some will receive a census package with the paper questionnaire, while others will have census staff visiting their neighbourhood.

Census information is important for all communities and is vital for planning services such as child care, schooling, hospitals, housing, and skills training for employment.

More information on the 2016 Census can be found on the census website.
