Statistics Canada hires interviewers from time to time on a part-time basis to conduct a variety of surveys, some of which are on going (monthly, quarterly), while others may be annual or one-time only.
The types of surveys conducted by Statistics Canada vary considerably, as do the methods of data collection. Some surveys are conducted by mail and telephone from regional offices and deal mostly with business establishments. Others, such as household and agriculture surveys, are mostly conducted by telephone or in person by interviewers working from their homes.
If you would like to know more about the duties of an interviewer position, consult the Job Description.
You can apply for an available job by noting the selection process number in the Available jobs section. If you don’t provide the selection process number in your application form, your application will not be dealt with right away; however it will become part of the on going recruitment, which is subject to the Statistics Act.
