Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) - 2015 Version Release

  1. The purpose of this notice is to inform exporters that the 2015 version of the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) software will be available and ready for download when it is released on December 8, 2014.
  2. The 2014 version of CAED will expire on January 30, 2015 at which point, only the 2015 version will be valid.
  3. CAED participants should upgrade to the CAED, 2015 version, by downloading the software along with the release notes from the www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/exp/index.
  4. The following offices will be eliminated from the "place of exit" field in the 2015 version of CAED:
    • AB – Carway (707)
    • AB – Lethbridge (703)
    • BC – Huntingdon (817) (name change to Abbotsford-Huntingdon)
    • BC – Campbell River (838) (port relocated to Comox effective Nov. 2014)
    • SK – Monchy (620)
  5. The following offices will be added to the "place of exit" field in the 2015 version of CAED:
    • AB – Fort McMurray (720)
    • BC – Comox (838)
    • BC – Abbotsford-Huntingdon (817)
    • BC – Pleasant Camp (891)
    • MB – Winnipeg International Airport (510)
    • NT – Inuvik (512)
    • ON – Toronto-Dixie Interport Sufferance Warehouse (496)
    • ON – Ottawa-MacDonald-Cartier Int. Air/Cargo Services (485)
    • QC – Lacolle Route 15 (351)
    • QC – Lacolle Route 221 (324)
    • QC – Lacolle Route 223 (341)
    • YT – Little Gold Creek (895)
  6. The country Cabo Verde (formerly Cape Verde) will be added to the list of countries available in the CAED 2015 version.
  7. The country Cape Verde will be removed from the list of countries available in the CAED 2015 version.
  8. The 2015 version of the CAED software will include some new export Harmonized System (HS) codes. HS code 2709.00.00 (Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude) has been updated with three new HS codes to reflect more accurate categorization of commodities within the classification:
    • 2709.00.10 – Having a relative density of 0.9042 or more (less than 25° A.P.I.)
    • 2709.00.21 – Condensate derived wholly from natural gas
    • 2709.00.29 – Other.
  9. When using the CAED application to report export goods to the CBSA, ensure that the declaration is fully completed, accurate and that a detailed description of all goods is provided. Doing so may prevent any unnecessary delays with your shipments.
