An overview of Statistics Canada and the Survey Process (Course code 0429)


This three-day course provides a comprehensive overview of the survey process at Statistics Canada. Content includes an overview of all the steps of a survey as per the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (establishing and clarifying client needs, development of a questionnaire and tabular outputs, issues related to survey methodology, collection and processing of survey data, analysis and dissemination of survey results, and survey evaluation). This course targets employees of departments and agencies who have an interest in learning the various steps that Statistics Canada follows in conducting surveys, as well as new Statistics Canada employees outside of the RDP program.
