Statistics Canada and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) launched the national implementation of the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) program, which gives registered exporters and agents the opportunity to report goods electronically to the Federal Government of Canada.
This program was launched on January 1st, 1998, and is a fast, inexpensive and easy way of reporting your exported goods.
The Canada Border Services Agency is updating regulatory requirements to mandate export reporting. Beginning April 1, 2012, the CBSA will take steps to eliminate the manual reporting process form (B13A) for exporters and implement mandatory electronic reporting. While the implementation date is scheduled for April 1, 2012, a six month grace period will be provided.
