Upon receipt of all CAED applications, the BN will be verified that it is active for exporting. Once BN verification is completed, the applicant will then be contacted by the CAED helpline. At this point the applicant will either be allowed to continue the registration process (if the BN is valid) or will be required to contact CRA to activate their Business Number for exports. If in good order, a phone appointment will be set up with the applicant to review the functionality of the CAED software and to ensure Internet connectivity.
Once the registration process has been completed, a unique licence number and authorization ID will be issued to the applicant. These ID's will enable the user to open and use the software as a registered CAED user.
The CAED help desk will verify the successful receipt of the transmitted file the next business day. Once a test transmission has been properly received, the applicant will be notified by the CAED helpdesk that they can begin to report their exports electronically using the CAED software.
