Your group has been assigned several of Canada's ecozones to research.

Using the Canada Year Book 1999, research each ecozone, with particular attention to the required information on the Student Worksheets provided.

  1. Create draft:
    Prepare a draft report for each ecozone on one sheet of paper at least 8.5x11. In one to three sentences, report the information you find for the following subheadings:
    • Climate
    • Landform
    • Plant and animal life
    • Human habitation
    • Economic activity
  2. Display and compare:
    1. Display your draft reports.
    2. Compare your reports with similar reports completed by other groups.
    3. Consult with the other groups about any differences in reports. To eliminate the potential for errors, modify all reports to include the best possible information
  3. Prepare final report:
    Your final report should include, for each of your ecozones,
    • a sheet containing the text of your research findings;
    • visuals in the form of drawings or pictures attached to the research sheet to illustrate the conditions found there; and
    • an outline map of Canada with the location of each ecozone marked on it.

Your work will be evaluated for appropriateness, clarity and creativeness.
