Declining birth rate and the increasing impact of immigration

Since Jean Talon first counted the population of New France, population growth has been a constant and often dramatic factor in Canada's social, political and economic fabric. High birth rates and immigration have been the twin engines of growth. Today a falling birth rate is changing the nature of Canada. We know that the post World War II baby boom affected many areas of Canadian life. How will a baby bust affect us?
