E-STAT instructions

1. On the E-STAT sidebar, select CANSIM in E-STAT.
2. In the search field, enter the table number 051-0005 and click Search. (The title of the table is "Estimates of population, Canada, provinces and territories, quarterly")
3. At the Subset selection under Geography (15 items), select the province you are working on.
4. Click Retrieve as individual Time Series.
5. Under Retrieve data for the following time period select from Jan. 1972 to the most current time period.
6. Under the heading SCREEN OUTPUT formats, select HTML, Table: Time as rows.
7. Click Manipulate Data.
8. Under the Frequency of output data will be, select Annual (average).
9. Click Retrieve Now.
10. To find the data for Births, Deaths, Immigration, Emigration and Net interprovincial migrants, go back to the Search CANSIM page, enter in the search field table number 051-0004. (The title of the table is "Components of population growth, Canada, provinces and territories, annual.")
11. Repeat steps 3-9. Please note: At the subset selection page, you will need to select under Components of population growth,
    • Births, Deaths, Immigrants, Emigrants
    • Net interprovincial migrants
