Technology Integration in the Curriculum

Overview/Abstract

This course will focus on how the computer can be used to encourage critical thinking in the classroom. We will investigate the unique features of computer technology and how these features can be used to develop creative thinking, complex thinking, and critical thinking skills. Generic applications (Internet, spreadsheets, databases, concept mapping tools, etc.) that can be used in all subject areas will be discussed.

The participants of this course are in-service and pre-service teachers. The purpose of the assignments of this course is to help them develop classroom resources that require students to use technology for learning. Links are included to a spreadsheet and database assignment which use E-STAT.
