The importance of wheat in Canada

Overview/Abstract

This assignment involves writing a 2-page essay examining the impact of the use of pesticides and fertilizers in the Prairie ecozone for a 2nd year economic geography course. The students use the E-STAT database as the prime source of information, generating graphs, tables and maps to provide the background information for this essay. This assignment draws on three different E-STAT databases: CANSIM data on crops and farm receipts, environmental data by ecozone, and data on crops and use of agricultural chemicals from the Census of Agriculture.
