Factory shipments edge up

FACTORY shipments barely edged up in November amid indications that rising costs and a strong dollar are continuing to take a toll on manufacturers. It was the first increase in the value of shipments in three months.    more >>


Inflation rate eases

THE RATE of inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, eased slightly in December as drivers got a break with gasoline prices.    more >>

UNIVERSITY students received a record number of bachelor's and masters degrees in 2001 as the overall level of degrees, certificates and diplomas granted by universities rose for the third straight year.    more >>
