Diabetes by health region, 2007/2008.
The health regions in Canada are divided into three groups. The groups are ranked from the lowest to the highest proportion of the population aged 12 and older with diabetes when compared to the national average of 5.8%.
On this map, green signifies health regions where a significantly lower proportion of the population has diabetes. Yellow signifies health regions where diabetes occurs at a rate not significantly different from the national average. Orange corresponds to health regions where a significantly higher proportion of the population has diabetes.
The white area on the map represents sparsely populated regions in Canada and is not associated with a value for diabetes.

Proportion of the population compared to the national average | Group | Colour |
---|---|---|
Significantly lower | 1 | Green |
Not significantly different | 2 | Yellow |
Significantly higher | 3 | Orange |
