• In 2008, taxes on goods and services were 7.5% of Canada's gross domestic product (GDP), compared with 4.6% of GDP in the United States and 10.3% in the United Kingdom.
• Canada's taxes on goods and services have decreased to 7.5% of GDP in 2008 from 9.0% in 1995.
