Chart 10.1 is a bar chart showing the percentage change in enrolment in publicly-funded elementary and secondary schools by province and territory in academic years 2000/2001 to 2009/2010.

Across Canada, enrolment fell 5.1%. Enrolment fell in all provinces and territories except two: in both Alberta and Nunavut, enrolment grew 3.3%.

Newfoundland and Labrador had the sharpest decline, 22.8%, followed by Nova Scotia, 16.2%.
